The Five Seven

The Five Seven is a jazz group based out of central Alberta, Canada. They play various styles of jazz, from swing, bebop, and ballads, to funk, fusion, and latin.

The Five Seven is made up of four members, trombone, piano, bass, and drums. On trombone is Aaron Lee, a trained jazz and classical trombonist/composer from Red Deer, Alberta. His smooth playing and captivating stage presence keeps you swinging and singing. As a composer Aaron writes a lot of the tunes that the Five Seven performs, from cool jazz to upbeat swing. Hearing Aaron play is is unlike anything you have ever heard before. Dave is a jazz pianist whose compositions and melodious solos will have you humming the whole night. Providing the backbone of the band, with classical and jazz training, Connor Hoppenbrouwers on bass holds the band down with his well-chosen basslines, and can rip out some amazing solos, sure to pull you in and keep you enthralled. Keeping the whole group together and providing the smiling face of the band is the drummer, Colin Langstraat. Colin is a very experienced, trained jazz drummer, able to play any style of jazz and latin, some you may have never even heard of. Not only does he keep the group, and you, jivin', but his solos pull melody and thoughtfulness from the drums, doing things with a kit you have never seen or heard.

The Five Seven has performed multiple venues, most notably The One Eleven in Red Deer, as well as RDC Mainstage.
